35mm Film Vs Digital Photography | Vintageandfilms | Canon AE-1 | Nikon Z6 | Kodak Ultramax 400
Had been thinking to do a 35mm film vs Digital photography shoot out for a long time now but it was delayed due to the Corona Pandemic.
However, finally, we did get the chance to go out and shoot by the banks of the river Brahmaputra. My choice of film for the day was Kodak Ultramax 400 on my Canon AE-1 Program while Jitul was with his Nikon Z6. And we had with us Sukanya Gogoi as the model for the shoot out.
The day started with pretty harsh sunlight which forced me to shoot with the aperture stopped down so as to compensate for the high ISO (400 in my case) and a limited shutter speed of 1/1000 for the Canon AE-1 Program.
Having the ability to review photos instantly will always be a major advantage of shooting on digital besides the ability to change the ISO, which for 35mm film is a fixed value and needs to be compensated by either the shutter speed or aperture.
Let me know what your thoughts are. Also do let me know if you are interested to be part of the next episodes of Vintageandfilms.
